Liquidation Risk: Coins with Accumulated Leverage on the Brink of a Cascade
"Liquidation Risk" is a preset for identifying coins that exhibit several risk factors simultaneously: high open interest, extreme funding, and minimal buffers to liquidate large positions. These are coins that could cascade with any external trigger.
Risk mechanics: the high accumulated leverage with extreme funding means that position holders are already paying significant holding fees. A small adverse price movement, and forced liquidations start a chain reaction. Each new liquidation puts downward pressure on the price, which in turn liquidates the next position.
